Free radicals have an important role in the body's signaling system, but if there are too many of them, they can instead damage the body's cells. This is called oxidative stress. Some examples of oxidation are when an apple turns brown, when a metal rusts or when we get older and get wrinkles. Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) is an antioxidant that helps protect cells against oxidative stress. Whole health's vitamin E is extracted from soybeans and thus has a natural origin.
