Description
Vectavir cream is used in the treatment of mouth ulcers (herpes labialis) caused by Herpes simplex. Treatment should be started as soon as possible after the onset of symptoms. The cream should be applied immediately when it starts to "tingle", "itch" or "sting" in the lip and/or when pimples/blisters form, not late in the process when scabs have already formed. Vectavir is an over-the-counter drug that inhibits the Herpes simplex virus' ability to reproduce. With the help of Vectavir, the time for healing, pain and detectable virus can be shortened by up to one day. Vectavir should only be used for sores on the lips or around the mouth. Can be used by adults and children over 12 years of age.
