ACO vitamin D drops prevent vitamin D deficiency in children and can be used from birth. Vitamin D deficiency can occur, for example, in children who do not receive vitamin D-fortified foods, children with dark skin color (dark skin forms less vitamin D than light skin), children who wear clothing that covers their face, arms and legs or children who do not stay enough outdoors in summer. Vitamin D regulates the calcium balance in bones and teeth, which counteracts soft and deformed bones (rickets). Vitamin D also contributes to normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphate in the body. Vitamin D is found in fatty fish, milk and shortening.
